Ms. Steele comes from Ukraine where she developed a beautiful and rich mezzo soprano voice. After years on the stage performing with the group Vodograiy, Ms Steele then taught at the University. Ms. Steele has brought this powerful Russian singing style to her students in Canada and for the benefit of voice students in the Lower Mainland. Graduates from Ms. Steele studio have gone on to study music in New York (The American Musical and Dramatic Academy ,New York); and London,England (Les Miserables Masterclass, London, UK, 2002 ) and Canada ( School of Music, Opera Program, University of Manitoba, Winipeg ). However, this is not the only group Ms. Steele teaches. What makes this studio so alive and popular is that Ms. Steele teaches students for the fun of singing also. Many children and adults are singing students who "love to sing" with the passion. They take lessons for their own personal satisfaction and they get to participate each year in Festival of Voice. FESTIVAL OF VOICE is a culmination of the year's voice achievements and it gives the students a wonderful opportunity to perform on a main stage. There is a family like feeling in the studio as each performer encourages the other to push through their fear of singing on stage. The quality of the annual show is exceptional.
